Mario Kart 9 or something different?
The most recently released Mario Kart was Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for the Switch. This was a port from the Wii U version, so it wasn't a brand new Mario Kart. There are 3 options for the name of the new Mario Kart, which are Mario Kart 9, Mario Kart 10, and Mario Kart Crossroads. The Mario Kart Crossroads titles is most imaginative. This name suggests that you can also kart with other Nintendo characters, like Kirby or Star Fox.

A new twist
Each Mario Kart has given the kart game a spin in the past. For example, Mario Kart 8 introduced racing upside down and Mario Kart 7 introduces the kites for the DS. According to the rumors, the new Mario Kart will also have a new twist. Many people think the addition of Nintendo characters is the twist. But there's also speculation about airplanes or a Mario Kart that keeps getting new tracks.

Release date unknown
Nintendo started with a new Mario Kart, but the release date is still unknown. It does seem that the game will be announced by Nintendo this year still. With previous large gamer like Super Smash, there wasn't a lot of time between the announcement and the release date. But with games like Zelda and Metroid Prime, it took years. We hope the new Mario Kart fast-tracks to our consoles and that the game doesn't take a detour.
