The most common errors of LG washing machines
LG error IE or 1E
Do you see an IE or 1E error on the display of your LG washing machine? That means there's a problem with the water supply. Fully open the water supply, so plenty of water can flow through it. Check if there's a kink in the supply hose. Remove the kink or replace the hose if it's broken. Finally, check the filter of the supply hose. To do so, remove the hose from the water supply. Have a towel ready, just to be sure. Clean the filter if it's dirty and reconnect the hose.
LG error code OE
If you see the error OE on the display, the drain is blocked. Is there a kink in the drain hose? Straighten it. It's possible there's a hairpin or coin stuck in the filter of the drain pump. To check this, open the hatch on the front of the washing machine. It's often located at the bottom right. Remove the filter and clean it. Place the filter back afterwards. Test if the wash cycle works now.
LG error code UE
In case of the UE error, the washing machine is out of balance. That can be the case when there's too little laundry in the drum, for example. Add some matching laundry. It's possible the laundry is all on 1 side of the drum. Is that the case? Redistribute the laundry for a better balance. Do you wash large pieces, like a bathrobe or a bathmat? You might have to redistribute those too.
LG error code dE, dE1, or dE2
If you see the error dE, dE1, or dE2, the door isn't closed properly. Push the door firmly until you hear a click. Laundry might be stuck between the door. In a more extreme case, the door lock is broken and you need a technician.
LG error code LE
The motor is overloaded when you see the LE error. There may be too much laundry in the drum, so you have to take some out. Leave the washing machine for 30 minutes to cool the motor. Restart the wash cycle afterwards.
LG error code AE
The AE error indicates there's a leak in the washing machine. Turn the washing machine off right away and disconnect the power cord. Fully close the water supply. Contact LG or the place where you bought it if the washing machine is covered by the warranty.
LG error PE
The error PE means that there's a malfunction with the water level sensor. Close the water supply and remove the plug from the socket. Check if the washing machine is connected to the water supply properly. Is there a blockage or kink in the supply hose? Clean the hose or remove the kink. Turn the washing machine on afterwards.
LG error CL
If you see the error CL, the child safety lock is enabled. When the child safety lock is enabled, the washing machine is locked. Press the 2 buttons on the display that say 'child lock' at the same time for a few seconds. It differs per model which button combination this is. The child safety lock is now disabled. Do you want to enable the lock again? Press the 2 buttons on the display at the same time again for a few seconds.
