How do you descale your JURA E6 coffee machine?
Get started with descaling
The video shows step-by-step how to descale your coffee machine. Descaling takes about 40 minutes. The coffee machine has a descaling program that you can easily select via the display. We'll go through a few steps with you:
- Step 1: prepare the descaling
- Step 2: start the descaling
- Step 3: rinse the machine
Requirements:
- JURA Descaling Tablets (3 units)
- Measuring cup of at least 500ml
- Container of at least 500ml
Do you use a water filter? Remove it from the water tank when you descale. Place it back after descaling, or replace it with a new water filter.
How often should you descale?
The JURA E6 will notify you when you need to descale it. When you replace the Claris Smart water filters in time, you don't really need to descale any more. This water filter prevents 99% of limescale buildup. How often you need to descale depends on the amount of calcium in your tap water. You can assume about once every 2 years. We recommend that you use JURA descaling tablets. This cleaning agent is precisely adjusted to your coffee machine, so you're sure you don't damage the machine. You also make sure you don't void the warranty of the coffee machine, which can happen if you use the wrong cleaning agents.
