How do you lift your washing machine to the right place?

Lifting a washing machine isn't complicated if you know how to do it. Always make sure you have someone there to help you lift the washing machine, as it requires 2 people. We'll explain how you can safely carry the washing machine to the right spot in 4 steps.

To lift a washing machine properly and place it in the right spot, follow the 4 steps below:

  • Step 1: tilt the washing machine.
  • Step 2: lift the washing machine.
  • Step 3: carry the washing machine up or down the stairs.
  • Step 4: put the washing machine down slowly.

Step 1: tilt the washing machine

You should always lift a washing machine with 2 people. First, decide who is will be holding the top and who will be holding the bottom of the washing machine. Are you holding the top? Grab the top of the machine at the back. Tilt the device towards you by pulling the top towards you and taking one step back. If you're holding the bottom, grab the front leg on one side and the back of the washing machine on the other side.

Step 2: lift the washing machine

For safety, we recommend that you put on gloves with extra grip and wear sturdy shoes. Don't forget to bend your knees and keep your back straight. If you're the one holding the bottom of the washing machine, you have to do the lifting. Move the hand holding the leg stand at the front to the corner at the back, so you're holding both sides. Lift the washing machine and let it rest on your leg. Pull the appliance up to your chest and keep your arms at a 45-degree angle. Are you holding the top of the appliance? You have to keep the washing machine balanced. If your washing machine will be placed on the ground floor, go to step 4.

Step 3: lift the washing machine up or down the stairs

Are you lifting the washing machine up the stairs? The person holding the top will determine the tempo. If you're lifting it down the stairs, the person on the bottom determines the speed. Be careful around bends and handrails. Indicate what you're doing and when, so the other person can take this into account.

Step 4: put the washing machine down gently

The final step is to put the washing machine down slowly. Slide the washing machine to its final position. Now that your washing machine is in the right spot, it's time to connect the it.
