- Activate the menu for water hardness.
- Dip the filter into a glass of water.
- Place the filter in the water tank.
- Place a 1L container under the outlet system.
- Place the filled water tank in the machine.

- 1L container
How often should you replace the water filter?
You replace your water filter every 2 months, or when you coffee machine notifies you. That always depends on the hardness of your tap water, and how many cups of coffee you drink per day.
Step 1: prepare the water filter
- Press and hold the button with the 3 coffee beans and the one with 'Calc'nClean' at the same time for 3 seconds.
- Press the 'espresso' button. This activates the menu for water hardness.
- Press the button with the 3 coffee beans and choose the option 'with water filter'.
- Immerse the water filter in some water and carefully squeeze it until all air has escaped.
Step 2: install the water filter
- Empty the water tank.
- Press the water filter firmly into the empty water tank.
- Fill the water tank with water until the 'max' line.
- Put a 1L container under the outlet.
- Press the 'espresso' button to save the setting and activate the rinse.
- Place the water tank into the machine.
- Press the 'espresso' button to start the rinse. Water now runs through the filter.
- Press the 'Calc'nClean' button to exit the menu.
- Empty the container.
- The machine is now ready for use.
