You need:

  • 2x 600ml container
  • Water hardness test strip
  • Water filter

Step 1: connect the coffee machine

Connect Krups machine
  1. Remove the protective film.
  2. Remove the water tank and fill it with water.
  3. Place the water tank back in the machine.
  4. Fill the bean hopper with coffee beans.
  5. Plug in the connector and press the 'on/off' button.
  6. The coffee machine now preheats.

Step 2: rinse the machine

Rinse machine
  1. Place a container under the coffee outlet and the steam wand.
  2. Press the 'start/stop' button when it starts flashing.
  3. The coffee machine will rinse.
  4. When rinsing is complete, remove both containers.

Step 3: set the water hardness

  1. Fill a glass with water.
  2. Dip the test strip into the glass for 5 seconds.
  3. Shake the drops from the test strip.
  4. Read the result after 1 minute.
  5. Go to settings with the gear button.
  6. Press the right arrow until you reach the gear with drop icon.
  7. The number of red squares on the test strip indicates your water hardness.
  8. Now set the water hardness between 0 and 4 by pressing the + and - buttons.
  9. Press the gear button to go back to the menu.

Step 4: install the water filter

  1. Remove the water filter from the packaging and set the current date.
  2. Remove the water tank from the machine and empty it.
  3. Screw the water filter into the water tank.
  4. Fill the water tank with fresh water.
  5. Place the water tank back in the machine.
  6. Press the gear button.
  7. Select the circle and arrow icon by pressing the right arrow.
  8. Press the 'start/stop' button when the icons are flashing.
  9. Place a 600ml container under the steam wand.
  10. The machine will now rinse.
  11. The rinsing is done when you see the start menu.
  12. Remove and empty the container.

Step 5: connect the milk system

  1. Remove all separate parts from the milk carafe.
  2. Assemble the parts of the milk reservoir.
  3. Put the lid on the milk reservoir and mount the cassette and the flexible hose.
  4. Raise the stainless steel lever.
  5. Attach the milk reservoir to the hot water outlet.
  6. Click the milk wand into the cassette.
  7. Attach the other end to the magnetic coffee outlet.
  8. Make sure the button on the milk container is set to 'Cappuccino'.
  9. The machine is now ready for use.
