How do you find the IMEI number of your iPhone?
What's an IMEI number?
The IMEI number is a unique number that identifies your iPhone. You could say it's like an ID. Every iPhone has its own IMEI number. It allows you to find out whether your iPhone is still under warranty, for example. Did you lose your iPhone or was it stolen? The phone will be blocked if you provide the IMEI number when you report it stolen. Your device will be unusable as a result.
Where can you find the IMEI number?
There are different ways to find the IMEI number of your iPhone. The easiest way is by going to 'Settings' on your iPhone > 'General' > 'Info'. Read other ways to find it below.
- On the back of the original packaging.
- Call *#06# and you'll see the IMEI number on your screen.
- On the SIM card holder of your iPhone 6s (Plus), 7, 8, (Plus), X, Xr, Xs (Max), SE, 11, 11 Pro (Max), 12 (Mini), 12 Pro (Max), 13 (mini), 13 Pro (Max), 14 (Plus), 14 Pro (Max), 15 (Plus), or 15 Pro (Max).
- On the back of your iPhone 5(c/s), SE (1st generation), and 6 (Plus).

Select the device and read the IMEI number
If you report your iPhone stolen, it's important to mention the IMEI number. As you no longer have the device, you can find the number on the back of the original packaging or online. You can find it online via the following steps:
- Go to the login page below on your computer or tablet.
- Log in with the Apple ID your iPhone is registered on.
- Scroll down until you see 'Devices'.
- Select the device you want to see the IMEI number of.
