- Remove the drip tray and capsule container from the coffee machine.
- Add 0.5L water to the water tank. Then fill the tank with a descaler. Attach the tank to the coffee machine again.
- Place a container of at least 1L underneath the coffee outlet.
Step 2: descale the machine
- Turn on the appliance and press the 2 buttons on top of the coffee machine until they start to blink.
- Press the right button once. The coffee machine starts descaling. The appliance stops descaling when the water tank is empty.
- Refill the water tank, attach it to the appliance, and press the right button again. This way, the coffee machine descales a second time. Again, wait until the entire water tank is empty.
Step 3: rinse the machine
- Refill the water tank with fresh water and place it back.
- Press the right button, so the appliance rinses again with water. Wait until the entire water tank is empty.
- Repeat these steps one more time.
- Press the 2 buttons on top of the coffee machine until the blinking stops. This way, you leave the descaling mode.
Place the drip tray and capsule container back on the coffee machine. Your Nespresso Essenza Mini has now been descaled succesfully and is ready for use.
