How do you descale your Nespresso Creatista?
Get started with descaling
We'll explain how to descale your Sage Nespresso in 3 steps. This takes about 15 minutes. These are the steps we'll go through:
- Step 1. Prepare the descaling
- Step 2. Start the descaling
- Step 3. Rinse the machine
You need:
- 1L container
- Nespresso descaler or a universal descaler
How often should you clean the Nespresso Creatista?
Your Nespresso Creatista automatically indicates when to descale it. If you wait too long, you can't use the machine until you descale it. This is a good motivator for you to actually descale it. Use a general descaler or the Nespresso descaler.
Step 1: prepare the descaling
-
Turn on your Nespresso machine.
-
The coffee machine will indicate when you have to descale it. When it does, go to 'Maintenance' via the display, and then to 'Descale'.
-
Pull up the lever and let the capsule fall into the container.
-
Remove the capsule container and drip tray and empty them.
-
Place both parts back into the machine.
-
Take the water tank out of the machine and fill it with fresh water up to the descaling mark.
-
Add the descaler.
-
Place the water tank back into the machine.
-
Place a container of at least 1L under the coffee outlet and steam wand.
Step 2: descale the machine
- Press 'Start' to start the descaling process.
- When the coffee machine is done, empty the drip tray, container with water, and capsule container. Then, place everything back in.
- Take the water tank out of the machine and rinse it thoroughly.
- Fill the water tank with fresh water up to the 'Max' mark and put it back in the machine.
- Make sure to place the container under the steam wand and coffee outlet again.
Step 3: rinse the machine
- Press 'Start' to rinse the machine with water.
- When the machine is done rinsing, empty the drip tray, the container with water, and capsule container. Then, put all the parts back in the machine.
- Press 'Start' for the last time to rinse the machine again.
- When the machine is done rinsing, empty all the parts.
- This time, only put the drip tray and capsule container back in the machine.
- Take the water tank out of the machine, rinse it thoroughly, and fill it with fresh water.
- Place the water tank back in the Nespresso machine.
- You've successfully descaled your Nespresso Creatista.
