How do you descale your JURA WE8 coffee machine?
Get started with descaling
Follow the video instructions to descale your coffee machine. Descaling takes about 40 minutes. The JURA WE8 has a descaling program that you can easily select via the display. You'll go through these steps:
- Step 1: prepare the descaling
- Step 2: start the descaling
- Step 3: rinse the machine
Requirements:
- JURA Descaling Tablets (3 units per cleaning session)
- Measuring cup of at least 500ml
- 500ml container 2x
Do you use a water filter? Remove it from the water tank before you descale. Place it back after descaling or install a new one right away.
How often do you need to descale?
Descale your JURA WE8 once every 2 years. The machine automatically notifies you when it's time. It's important that you use Claris Pro Smart water filter and that your replace it in time. This water filter prevents 99% of the limescale buildup. We recommend to use JURA descaling tablets. This cleaning agent is made for your coffee machine, so you can be sure it won't damage your coffee machine.
Step 1: prepare the descaling
- When the display shows the 'descale' notification, press the button with a 'P' and 5 droplets in the bottom left to start descaling.
- Press 'start' in the bottom right and then 'next'.
- Remove the drip tray and the coffee grounds container from the machine.
- Empty both containers, put them back together and place them back in the machine.
- Put a container under the coffee outlet and the hot water outlet.
- Remove the water tank from the side of the machine.
- Pour out the water that's still in the water tank.
- Fill a measuring cup with 500ml water and add 3 JURA descaling tablets.
- Let the descaling tablets dissolve for a few minutes.
Step 2: start the descaling
- Pour the water with the descaling agent into the water tank.
- Place the water tank back in the coffee machine.
- The machine starts descaling right away.
- At some point, the display will indicate to empty the drip tray.
- Remove the containers, the drip tray, and the coffee grounds container. Empty them in the sink and place them back in the machine from where you took them.
- Remove the water tank from the coffee machine and empty the leftover water in the sink.
- Rinse the water tank thoroughly and fill it up to 'max' with fresh water.
- Make sure the containers are under the coffee outlet and the hot water outlet.
Step 3: rinse the machine
- Place the water tank back into the coffee machine.
- The machine will start rinsing right away.
- When the machine is done rinsing, you'll see 'empty water container' on the display.
- Remove the containers and empty them.
- Remove the drip tray and coffee grounds container. Empty them both in the sink and place them back in the sink.
- You've descaled successfully.
- Your JURA WE8 is ready for use again.
