How do you descale your JURA S8 coffee machine?
Get started with descaling
In this video, you'll see step-by-step how to descale your JURA coffee machine. Descaling takes about 45 minutes. We'll go through these steps with you:

Requirements:
- JURA Descaling Tablets (3 units)
- Measuring cup of at least 500ml
- Container of at least 500ml 2x
Do you use a water filter? Remove it from the water tank when you descale. Place it back after descaling, or replace it with a new water filter.
How often should you descale?
Keep in mind that you only have to descale your JURA machine once every 2 years if you use the JURA water filter. The JURA S8 will indicate it when it's time to descale the machine. We recommend that you use the descaling tablets from JURA. This cleaner is tailored exactly to your coffee machine. As a result, you can be sure that it doesn't damage your machine and that your coffee machine is still under JURA's warranty.
Step 1: prepare the descaling
1: 'Decalcify machine' appears on the display. Tap this message to go to the right menu. 2: tap the red icon in the middle. 3: the display shows 'Approximate duration 45 min.'. Tap 'Start' to confirm the program. 4: the display shows the message 'Use only original JURA maintenance products'. Click 'Start'. 5: slide the drip tray and coffee grounds container out of the coffee machine, empty them, and slide them back into the machine. 6: remove the water tank and empty it in the sink.
Step 2: descale the machine
1: fill a measuring cup with 500ml of water and add 3 descaling tablets.
2: leave the water and the descaling tablets for a couple of minutes. When the water has a blue color, pour it into the water tank. 3: place a container under the coffee outlet another under the hot water out let and tap 'Next'. The machine will now start the descaling process. 4: after a while, you'll see a message on the display to empty the drip tray and the coffee grounds container. 5: remove both containers, the coffee grounds container, and the drip tray, and empty them both. After that, slide them back into the coffee machine. 6: remove the water tank from the coffee machine and pour out the last bit of water. 7: rinse the water tank thoroughly, then refill it with fresh water up to the 'MAX' line.
Step 3: rinse the machine
1: put the full water tank back in the machine. 2: make sure that the containers are placed under the coffee outlet and how water outlet again. Tap 'Next'. 3: rinse the machine for a couple of minutes. 4: after you've rinsed it, you'll see a message to empty the drip tray and the coffee grounds container. 5: remove the 2 containers, the coffee grounds container, and the drip tray. Empty all of them and only slide the drip tray and the coffee grounds container back into the machine. 6: you've successfully descaled your JURA S8 and it's now ready for use again.
