How do you connect your Pico VR headset to a PC or laptop?
Connect your Pico VR headset
You can connect your Pico to your PC or laptop via a USB-C cable or wirelessly via Virtual Desktop or Streaming Assistant. Keep in mind that you need a PC or laptop with at least the specifications below:
- Processor: Intel Core i5-4590/AMD FX 8350 or higher
- Memory: 8GB RAM or more
- Video card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970, AMD Radeon R9 290, or better
- Operating system: Windows 10
- USB ports: 1 USB-A 3.0 port of higher
For both ways, it's important that your PC or laptop is connected directly with an Ethernet cable. You Pico VR headset also has to be connected to at least a 5GHz WiFi band. You only get this connection if you adjust the settings of your router.

Select USB under 'Connection Mode'

Connect your PC or laptop and press connect
- Connect the USB-C cable to your Pico VR headset. Make sure your cable isn't stuck between the headband.
- Install 'Streaming Assistant' on your PC or laptop via the Pico website. Afterwards, open the software and connect the USB-A side to the PC or laptop.
- Turn on the Pico VR headset and put in on your head.
- Open the Pico Store and install 'Streaming Assistant' on your Pico VR headset.
- Open 'Streaming Assistant' on your Pico VR headset and choose USB for 'Connection Mode'.
- Find your PC or laptop in the list on the right. Afterwards, press 'Connect'.

Virtual Desktop isn't free, but it does provide the best wireless connection. You can choose from various bitrates and resolutions, so you'll always see the best result on your VR headset. You can also use this software with other VR headsets.
- Buy the 'Virtual Desktop' software via the Pico Store on the Pico VR headset and install it on your VR headset.
- Install the 'Virtual Desktop Streamer' app on your PC or laptop.
- Turn the Pico VR headset on and put it on your head.
- Open the Streamer app on your PC and choose a username for your VR headset.
- Open 'Virtual Desktop' on your Pico VR headset and connect to the name of your PC or laptop.
You can now adjust settings so you have the best virtual experience when you game.

- During startup, choose WiFi for the 'Connection Mode'. You might have to lower the settings before you continue.
- Turn on the Pico VR headset and put it on your head.
- Open the Pico Store and install 'Streaming Assistant' on your Pico VR headset.
- Open 'Streaming Assistant' on your Pico VR headset and find your PC or laptop in the list on the right side. Afterwards, press 'Connect'.
