First impression of the TP-Link Archer AX55
The TP-Link Archer AX55 has a subtle design. The design is glossy black and not too big. So I can easily place it out of sight. I can also mount this router to the wall. The 4 antennas do stand out. I can use these to aim the WiFi signal to where I need reception.
Set up with the app
I decide to set up the Archer AX55 via the app. This means that I connect the cables and wait until the router has started. Next, I open the app. I enter the right information for my internet connection. Within a few minutes, there's a connection. So I'm done in 10 minutes. In the app, I set advanced options. For example, parental controls or a VPN server.
Stream without problems on 1 floor
This WiFi 6 router has a much higher speed than the modem of my provider. So streaming is possible without effort. On the ground floor, I reach my full internet speed. On the first floor of my newly built home, the speed slightly drops. The connection also lags a bit here. Music streaming still goes well, but watching a series is difficult sometimes. In an older house, the router might work well on 2 floors.

In our house, this means that we can have video calls with 2 people without the WiFi lagging. The video images of the online meeting look good and I am also clearly visible. In my newly built home, this only applies to the floor where the router is placed.
