Party game with a new look
Just Dance is not new among the party games. Ever since 2009, Ubisoft released a new dance edition with the best hits of the year and some old songs almost every year. What I noticed first, was the new art style. Everything has a new look, including the menu, the playlists, and the in-game dance environments. I needed to get used to this at first, but after I while I did.
Dance offline to your favorite hits
What's also very nice, is that I can now download hits to my Nintendo Switch. This means I can take my Switch with me to friends, so we can game together without an internet connection. That's also useful if you take your Nintendo Switch with you when you travel, and you need to wait in a place without WiFi.
Game offline with friends
For the first time in Just Dance, it's possible to game online with your friends. That's a function I've been waiting for for a very long time. Of course I could already game online via the World Dance Floor, but not yet with friends. Now I can play online with 4 other friends, without any other players. It's a very nice addition if you ask me.
Level up
If you're just like me and do a dance workout in the morning, I have good news. In this Just Dance, my progress is tracked with a new system. Every time I level up, I receive points. With those, I unlock new things like banners, emoticons, and badges. They also added challenges to earn extra XP.
Conclusion
Just Dance 2023 is a breath of fresh air. This is the first time this game got a large makeover, which was a good move in my opinion. Remote gaming together has become a lot easier thanks to the new online group function. And you can still organize a dance party at home of course, just like with the previous editions. Especially the addition of challenges to earn XP is a fun new feature if you also play this game by yourself.
