Expert review Apple iPad Air (2020)

I can tell that the design of the iPad Air (2020) has undergone a lot of changes compared to its predecessor, the iPad Air (2019). I recognize the angular design from the iPad Pro 11 inches. The bezels are a lot smaller and the Lightning connector has been replaced by a USB-C port. This model is available in 5 different colors, so there's a color for everyone. Aside from the iPad Air (2020), I also find a USB-C to USB-C cable, a 20W USB-C charger, and some documents in the box.

Playing games and watching movies or series is a pleasure on the iPad Air (2020). The screen is sharp and the colors pop off the screen. The bezels around the screen are very thin, because the fingerprint scanner has been integrated into the on/off button. As a result, the screen-to-body ratio is 82.27%. Despite the thin bezels, the tablet is still easy to hold without my thumbs getting in the way. The 10.9-inch screen offers enough room to open my favorite apps next to each other with Split View.

All apps and games boot super quickly thanks to the new A14 Bionic chip, which you can also find in the iPhone 12. Less demanding apps like Facebook and Safari open in under a second. More demanding apps and games take a little longer. I can navigate through all my apps super quickly and use different demanding apps at the same time without difficulty. Thanks to 4GB RAM, I can effortlessly switch between different Adobe apps.

Thanks to the USB-C port, I can easily connect a USB-C dock. These kinds of docks often have connectors for an external monitor, keyboard, and mouse. This way, I can create a setup that allows me to work comfortably all day long. I can also effortlessly connect wireless accessories via Bluetooth, such as the Magic Mouse 2. With the included USB-C charger and cable, the battery of the tablet is back up to 50% in about 1 hour.

When I connect the Magic Keyboard and the Apple Pencil (2nd generation), I increase my productivity. With the Magic Keyboard, I give the tablet a luxurious look and type out long texts comfortably. Thanks to the built-in stand, I can position the iPad Air (2020) in a pleasant viewing angle. The Apple Pencil 2 works very nicely and slides over the screen smoothly. It feels just like i'm drawing or writing on actual paper. The stylus is touch and pressure-sensitive. For example, I can easily switch tools when I take notes by tapping the stylus 2 times.
