Everything on iPadOS 18
Customize your apps and Control Center
You can adjust the home screen of your iPad to your style even more. Place apps at the bottom of your screen or on the sides, for example. This means that you can place apps around your background photo, instead of in front of it. You can also adjust the color of your app icons so they match your background, for example. You can adjust the Control Center to your liking as well. That way, you'll always have the most important apps and iPad functions on hand.
Photo app shows categories, such as travel
The Photo app on the iPad gets a huge makeover, just like on the iPhone. You'll be able to find your most recent photos, albums, and categories in 1 window. You can easily filter screenshots from your photo overview so you only see the photos you actually took. The Photo app also creates categories for you. A category with all your travels from the past years, for example.
iPad becomes math prodigy thanks to Math Notes
We've had to wait for years, but the Calculator app will now be available on the iPad. The keyboard of the iPad app is extensive, so you'll have more math functions within reach. The Math Notes concept is even more impressive. You can write complex formulas with the Apple Pencil in the Calculator app or Notes app. In addition, Math Notes gives you the answer to the formula. If you change part of the formula, the answer to the formula automatically changes with it.
Write even more finely thanks to Smart Script
People often use the iPad as a notebook, and this will be even more comfortable thanks to Smart Script. This function corrects the texts you write with the Apple Pencil while you're writing. This ensures that your handwriting is more legible, and it keeps your writing looking more consistent. Want to paste a text from a different document in your handwritten notes? The text will be pasted in your handwriting. Smart Script also detects typos in your written text and offers suggestions for improvements.
Other new functions of iPadOS 18
More functions will be available on the iPad thanks to iPadOS 18. You'll be able to control your grandma's iPad remotely, for example. There's also going to be a Game Mode. In this mode, tasks on the background pause so you can game at full force without disruptions. In the Notes app, you'll be able to create sections you can open and close. And did you set a reminder in the Reminder app? Thanks to iPadOS 18, you'll see it in your Calendar app at the planned time.
