The Oral-B iO 7 and 8 only work with AI brush recognition. This means that the toothbrush keeps track of which teeth you brush and if you brush them for long enough. This way, the app shows you that you need to brush your front teeth for longer than you normally do, for example. In addition, you can see if you apply enough pressure, the brush timer, the remaining battery life, and when you need to replace the brush attachments.

With the Oral-B iO 9 and 10, you have the most options with 7 brushing modes. The iO 9 and 10 have all the brushing modes that the iO 8 has, and it adds a brushing mode for the tongue. This removes bacteria from your tongue, so you prevent a bad breath. In addition, you can choose a mode for whiter teeth and a sensitive, extra sensitive, intense, massage, and standard brushing mode.

The iO 8 has 6 different brushing modes. It has a mode for whiter teeth, a sensitive, extra sensitive, intense, massage, and standard brushing mode. Compared to the iO 9 and 10, the iO 8 doesn't have a special brushing mode for your tongue.

The iO 7 has 5 different brushing modes. Compared to the iO 9 and 10, they miss the brushing mode for the tongue and the extra sensitive brushing mode for sensitive teeth and gums. The device does have a mode for whiter teeth and a sensitive, intense, massage, and standard brushing mode.

The Oral-B iO 10 has an interactive charging dock that gives personal feedback during your brush session. The iO Sense smart charger guides you while you brush your teeth. That way, you can brush all your teeth thoroughly without being near your smartphone. You also receive a rechargeable travel pouch. Thanks to this, you can always take it with you and you'll never have an empty toothbrush. You can store the brush attachments hygienically in the brush attachment holder.

With the Oral-B iO 9, you'll get a rechargeable travel pouch just like with the iO 10. It doesn't includes an interactive charging dock. When you're on the go, you can charge your toothbrush in the rechargeable travel pouch. With some models, you also receive a magnetic, soft travel pouch. You'll also get a magnetic charger and a brush attachment holder. In the holder, you can store your brush attachments hygienically.

In contrast to the iO 9, you won't receive a rechargeable travel pouch with the toothbrush with the iO 7 and 8. A brush attachment holder and a regular travel pouch are included with these models. That way, you can safely bring both your electric toothbrush and your brush attachments with you on vacation in a hygienic way. Just like with the iO 9, you'll get an elegantly designed magnetic charger with both the iO 7 and 8.
