How do you choose a hybrid trimmer?
Choose a hybrid trimmer
Before you buy a hybrid trimmer, it's important to ask yourself the following questions:
- Which body parts do you want to trim?
- Which cutting lengths do you need?
- How long do you want to be able to trim on a full battery?
- Do you often take the hybrid trimmer with you when you travel?
Which body parts do you want to trim?
You can trim, shave, and detail your beard with most hybrid trimmers. Do you want to trim you body hair too, in addition to your facial hair? We'd recommend you to choose a trimmer with an attachment for the body. Choose a trimmer with a special blade for the body and a body comb, for example. We'd also recommend a skin protector. With this cap, you can safely trim the most sensitive parts of your body without the blades getting too close to the skin
Which shaving lengths do you need?
Some trimmers work with separate comb attachments of different lengths, others work with 1 adjustable comb. The advantage of an adjustable comb attachment is that you can set the length very precisely and that you don't have to switch the combs every time. If you want short scruff, a minimum shaving length of 1mm or smaller is suitable. You can create a longer scruff with a minimum shaving length of 3mm. For a longer beard, you can use a shaving length of 10mm or more.
How long do you want to be able to trim on a full battery?
Most hybrid trimmers don't work on the power grid, but with a rechargeable battery. If you don't want to have to charge the trimmer often, you should check the maximum battery life. It's also useful to check the charging options. Some hybrid trimmers include a charging dock, in addition to a separate charger. With such a station, you can give the trimmer a fixed spot on the sink and you can charge it after your trimming session right away.
Do you often take the hybrid trimmer with you when you travel?
A hybrid trimmer with a storage option is a good choice if you travel often. With a hardcase pouch, you can properly protect the trimmer, comb attachments, and adapter in your bag or suitcase. Do you want to keep the trimmer and accessories neatly together in your bathroom? A soft pouch will be sufficient. You can also use a stand or charging dock to give your trimmer a fixed spot in your bathroom.
