How do you know if an American fridge fits in your kitchen?
To measure is to know
First, decide where you want to put your American fridge. Measure the height, width, and depth of the spot. This way, you'll know how large the fridge can be. Also keep any cabinets, planks, or baseboards in mind. Don't include these in your measurements.
Leave space
An American fridge needs ventilation space. We recommend 5cm on both sides and 10cm for the depth. This way, you can be sure the appliance cools properly and doesn't make more noise. Also check if you can open the doors in the desired spot.
Check the spot
Make sure there's a socket nearby and if the power cord of the American fridge is long enough. Don't use any accessories like power strips or extension cords. These accessories can't handle the constant high power, so they can ignite. Do you buy a model with a dispenser? Make sure you have a water supply near the fridge as well.
Check the walking route
It's also important that the fridge ends up in the desired spot. Check if the model can fit through all door openings to get to the kitchen. We also don't lift an American fridge up the stairs. This can be a raised plateau in your garden, the steps at the front door, or a different floor. We do lift a side-by-side fridge up the stairs. Do you live on the ground floor? This isn't a problem.
