What are the dimensions of a solar panel?

A standard solar panel is about 165cm high and 100cm wide. The size of the panel determines how many panels fit on your roof. In this article, you can read more about the different dimensions of a solar panel.

Solar panels come in different types and sizes. Most solar panels are about 165cm long, 100cm wide, and 3cm thick. This kind of panel consists of 60 solar cells divided into 6 rows of 10. This puts the power between 280 and 320 Watt-peak (Wp). There are also larger models that generate more. This is useful if you have the space for them on your roof. For places like on your camper, there are smaller solar panels. We've listed the types of dimensions for you:

  • Standard: 165x100x3cm
  • Large: 200x100x3cm
  • Small: 125x80x3cm

Watt-peak solar panels

A larger solar panel often has more solar cells, which means it has a higher Watt-peak. With Watt-peak, we mean the amount of power that each solar panel can generate at most. The higher the number of Watt-peak, the higher the yield of your solar panel. The various types of solar panel dimensions generate about:

  • Standard: between 280 and 320Wp
  • Large: between 380 and 410Wp
  • Small: between 280 and 320Wp
