This sensor is smaller than its predecessor and contains 2 batteries, so it lasts a little longer. You can place the sensor on a window frame or door, so the alarm notifies you when it opens. Choose for yourself if the alarm sets off an audio signal in your home, or if you just get a notification on your smartphone. To use this expansion, you always need a Ring base station. The alarm only goes off if it's been turned on via the control panel.
