That's useful, because this allows you to drink from the same cup and you don't need a separate glass. You can clean the cup and the drinking ring in the dishwasher after use. You can clean the blade by hand. That way, the blades don't get blunt easily.
Keep in mind you don't blend for longer than 1 minute back to back. The blender may get overheated in that case.
