Second Chance LG OLED42C34LA (2023)

I was able to test this TV together with the LG soundbar DSC9S.
The test with this LG OLED television is really a very pleasant experience, especially in combination with the soundbar. The screen is nice and flat, but there is a thickening of 3-4 cm at the back so that it is not placed tightly against the wall.
The connections are well concealed on the left side behind the screen so that you have no view of the necessary (HDMI) cables. The 4 HDMI inputs are quickly filled with connecting the soundbar, fiber optic TV receiver, game console and streaming device.
The image is really fantastic, clear contract full and quickly responsive. There are many settings possible, but I stuck to the AUTO options and average values. This gave me the best viewing experience. The sound from the TV alone is a bit flat, especially if you compare it with the sound with a soundbar switched on, which certainly gives an extra dimension to the viewing and listening experience.
The remote control takes some getting used to compared to a conventional one, but it works very well. The keys are useful for launching standard apps such as Netflix and Amazon Prime. The apps work perfectly and very fast. Linking the apps to your existing accounts is also very simple so that you can quickly start enjoying.

I am very enthusiastic about this TV and in my opinion it is highly recommended, and I would certainly consider installing an accompanying soundbar.

And I must say, I really like it, it is a beautiful TV to look at and the picture exceeds expectations, it is so beautifully sharp and beautiful colors, we thought we already had a nice TV
But once you see this you can hardly go back, I think.
Installation went smoothly and was not too complicated, you can connect the TV to the internet via WiFi or wired.
There are still many different functions that we are gradually discovering but still have to discover.
You can also use the remote control as a kind of mouse and that can be extremely useful when searching for programs, and it also contains all kinds of useful apps.
The sound is nice, but we use it in combination with the matching LG soundbar and then you just have cinema sound at home, so beautiful! I will write a review about that too

I like the TV very much. I had a working plasma TV that was 15-16 years old and was planning on buying a new one as soon as it broke, but it didn't work out. Due to the high power consumption, I bought a new one in the same size.
The standard settings for both image and sound only appealed to me moderately, I thought I had made a bad purchase.
But after a lot of fiddling and trying out the picture settings, I am very satisfied, what a beautiful picture, better than with the plasma TV. For the sound I chose the standard cinema setting. That one appeals to me the most.

I still watch TV through an old Humax from 2009. I understand that there are now better cabinets, but I am already very satisfied with the images I see on the TV. Connect this to HDMI-1. First I had the Blu-ray on HDMI-1 and it turned on spontaneously when the TV was turned on.
I haven't really tried out the Smart TV functions yet, I stream via a Chromecast and that is very easy.
Points of improvement are the location of the HDMI connections and how to insert the plug into the HDMI connection.
- Place it on the left at the back: the HDMI cable protrudes next to the TV: you need a 90-degree plug to conceal it nicely.
- Place it in the middle at the back: the HDMI cable goes straight to the back: you also need a 90-degree plug if you want to mount the TV on the wall.

I still have a lot to discover: for example, how do I ensure a good connection to my analogue amplifier. But for now, for home and garden use (TV, DVD, Streaming) I am very satisfied.
