Second Chance Liebherr Re 5220-20

My freezer is in the shed, so I'm looking for a separate fridge with lots of space. I'm testing this freestanding 1-door fridge, which has 399 liters of extra space for many groceries at the same time. I keep fruit and vegetables fresh for longer with the EasyFresh crisper drawers. This way I throw away apples less quickly. I like that the layout is flexible. It does take some time to connect via an app.

First impression
The first thing you notice is how spacious the interior is. Handy, because I like to have a large stock of groceries at home. When there is an offer, I usually buy many products at once. My eye falls on the bottle rack, which has room for 5 bottles of wine or soft drinks. This makes them extra sturdy. I adjust the shelves in height, so that I choose a nice layout myself. The door opens a bit heavy, but luckily you get used to it quickly.

EasyFresh drawers
What is striking about the refrigerator is that it has no less than 2 EasyFresh drawers. A big plus. I store fruit and vegetables in these fresh zones, such as peppers, grapes and pears. The room is slightly more humid, so my groceries don't dry out. This way they stay fresh longer and my apples taste juicier. I waste less food and save money.

Cool everywhere
With PowerCooling it doesn't matter where I put my groceries. The refrigerator distributes the temperature evenly, so that the top is just as cold as the bottom. The fridge has no freezer compartment, I have a separate freezer for this. The advantage is that I have extra space for cartons of yogurt, pieces of cheese and chocolate milk. I divide these over the shelves and door compartments.

No noise
Fortunately, I don't suffer much from noise. With a maximum of 36 decibels, the refrigerator is silent in use. That's how I put it in a small or open kitchen. I sometimes hear buzzing, but it doesn't bother me. As a result, I am not distracted when I watch an exciting series.

Energy consumption
With energy class E, the refrigerator consumes quite a bit of energy. That's why I use the HolidayMode when I'm away for a few weeks. With this holiday mode I save energy and temporarily increase the temperature. For my bottles of water, this makes little difference.

Connection via app
I buy the SmartDeviceBox, which I use to connect the fridge to my smartphone via an app. This way I can adjust the temperature remotely. I can't immediately connect via the quick guide. That's why I'm working on linking. If I come across an extensive manual, it will work. I would definitely recommend this fridge thanks to all the useful features.

This refrigerator can also be controlled via an app. We have these in the shed, and have no internet in the shed. Because the quick guide is very brief, it is a bit of a puzzle for the first few days, but once you know it, it is a perfect refrigerator.
We set it to 5°C. At Liebherr, it has been considered that it does not have to be so cold everywhere, and they have divided the refrigerator into several compartments, with different temperatures, and in our case up to 10° C.
