Because the Apple AirPods 3 are earbuds, they don't fully seal your ears. This means that the bass sounds don't come through as well and are less prominently present. The mid-range isn't boosted, so the instruments and vocals sound exactly like the artist intended. You can't adjust the sound via an equalizer, so you'll have to make do with the factory settings.

After my Airpods 2 were stolen, I bought them so that I can find my earplugs via the Find My function. Unfortunately, the fit compared to the AirPods 2 is less good for my ears and the cap simply falls out on one ear after wearing it for a while. In addition, I liked that you could grip the AirPods 2 well when you put them in, where others say they are happy that the stem is shorter, I am not necessarily that. I've dropped the AirPods 3 several times (luckily not in a well :') ) and I also find them uncomfortable in the charging case. If I could make my choice again, I would have gone for a new set of Airpods 2, the trackability is not worth the wearing comfort to me.
