Description
Use the Ubiquiti UniFi Protect G4 Doorbell to keep an eye on your front door wherever you are. This smart doorbell has a built-in display to show messages to visitors. In addition, you can talk directly to the people at your front door via the UniFi Protect app on your smartphone, even when you're not home. Thanks to the built-in lighting, the video footage is good quality when it's dark as well. If you want to use the doorbell, you need a UniFi recorder. I have a unify USG router and 5 APs. Turns out the cam doesn't work with that. Only with certain other equipment. That is not clearly stated.

Nice product and clear installation manual. Software is very easy to install and the required base station (purchased separately) is up and running in no time. I already have a wireless network from Unifi so the integration was very easy. Used in combination with a Cloud Key plus (gen2) with internal 1TB hard disk for the recordings. I'm still planning to hang a 2nd camera, and the cloud key can handle this just fine. For larger installations, it is recommended to take the UNVR because it has a somewhat faster processor. A disadvantage during the installation is that the doorbell did not work the first day, after some reading on the internet this is because the battery in the doorbell first has to be charged. I had already ordered a replacement product because I thought the doorbell was defective, so this is something that was missing in the manual. I used a 2nd chance product, maybe because of this I had some problems during the installation. The doorbell now works perfectly!
