Bosch PBD 40

I've had the machine for a few weeks and I think it's a good asset. I do a lot of small work and model building. The speed control is perfect, the laser cross is a huge convenience. What strikes me most is how practical the integrated tension clamp is. The digital depth measurement is also very handy. Recommended.

Great machine, I was hesitant at first because of the playful looks, this turned out to be unjustified. The turning wheel looks plastic in the photo but is made of aluminum. Finish compared to the budget stuff very good, target for example on the base plate. Caps robust plastic (no soft plastic). Clamp is well thought out, conduction is a very pleasant addition. Until now (only used a few times) very satisfied, machine is worth more than I honestly expected. 1 disadvantage, the machine is intended for finer precise work, the smallest drill that fits is 1.5mm, I would have liked that a little smaller, 0.8mm or something.

I initially thought to go for the old 'trusted' drill press system with interchangeable straps at the top. I was therefore somewhat suspicious of this 'new' Bosch model. But since I only read positive reviews about it, I was convinced to choose this Bosch. And the 1st use I am very satisfied with this choice! Simple and very handy speed control with choice for low and high speed button and separate electronic speed control can be read on the display. The mechanical 'stop' depth control is also very handy, depth can also be read on the display. The laser indication is also very practical. Also know that this drill column is 710W where the traditional drill column with belt is often only 500W. The whole device is also light in construction so that it can be conveniently put away. The only thing it doesn't have and what I would find useful is a scale on the bottom plate, that could have been included. But the general conclusion is that I am very pleased with this choice.
