LG DSC9S

The LG DSC9S is a light and compact soundbar that produces a powerful sound. The subwoofer produces deep bass tones, but the strength of the bass tones differs per setting. Installation I lift the soundbar out of the box and I immediately notice how light and compact it is. The subwoofer, on the other hand, is on the heavy side. Installation is very easy. It is only a matter of connecting power and connecting it to the television with the supplied cables. Usage Use the remote control of the soundbar to set the volume and turn on Dolby Atmos. I set the sound setting with the television remote control. You have, among other things, a cinema setting and sports setting. With the LG Sound Bar app, you can choose the setting you want on your phone. Sound I think the sound is powerful. With Wow Orchestra I hear a realistic sound. You can actually hear a bird flying in the distance in a nature documentary. With this function, you hear sound from the soundbar, subwoofer, and television speakers. Overall, the sound is good in the auto setting, but I'm glad there are different settings. In the music setting I find the balance good, while I find the bass too present in the automatic setting. While watching movies and series, I of course turn on the cinema setting and the sound is impressive. I find that each setting provides a suitable sound reproduction for every type of content: sports competitions, but also games. Dolby Atmos comes into its own. I hear spatial sound, but I notice that I am not completely affected by it. I don't feel intensely the breath of the tiger standing in front of you. The function to understand voices clearly does not do the sound any good. The sound is flat and tinny. As a result, I cannot hear voices better and the intense experience disappears. A shame, because the soundbar can provide powerful and clear sound. You also want to have Wow Orchestra turned off if you have this setting on, otherwise you'll hear voice echoes coming from the television speakers. Design The design of the soundbar is good. It is compact, light and neutral. It therefore fits under any television. The subwoofer also has a simple design and is therefore not a strange thing in the corner of your room.

We were able to test this soundbar for a few weeks. The soundbar is connected to an LG OLED55C34LA evo 55" television. This is an excellent combination. With this soundbar, the sound of the television is many times better than the television's own sound. The subwoofer is quite large, but can be installed in a corner. can be placed inconspicuously. The subwoofer does not produce a dominant sound but works well with the soundbar. The advantage is that the soundbar has several settings that you can easily navigate through via the remote control. For example, you can understand talk shows much better with the voice setting, and films experience better with cinema. With films, the sound must be a little louder to really get the cinema experience. Unfortunately, the soundbar has no display, operation is done by voice. It is difficult that you have to operate an extra remote control, but later It turned out that this is not necessary and that the soundbar can also be operated via the TV remote control.
