Surprisingly complete device for this price

Coming from a Galaxy S8 went looking for a worthy alternative. The specifications of the A52 are so high/good that I didn't necessarily look for the higher segment. I had to give up some features for that. The two most eye-catching are the water resistance and wireless charging. But other than that, it's a great device. The need for an SD card is not present because sufficient storage space + also an excellent integration with OneDrive (cloud). The large screen is just as sharp and colorful as the S8. I have not seen a single hitch and everything runs smoothly. The fingerprint scanner on the front (under the screen) is really a relief, and nice with that light underneath. After a few days of playing and configuring various apps, the battery life is especially noticeable. That one is really great! I sincerely wonder what Samsung wants to achieve with the midrange devices. This one is so good that it may take a considerable market share of the high-end devices. Of course you feel the difference with a high-end device in terms of material use, but the difference in price is so great that you have to think carefully whether it is worth it. Excellent slightly pricey mid-range.

  • Very sharp screen clearly readable in the sun with high contrast.
  • VoWifi: Voice over Wifi allows you to make and receive calls where there is very little or no GSM reception by using the local WiFi network.
  • The device seems fairly robust to me and inspires confidence. Splash-proof and dust-proof may guarantee a longer life.
  • The activation of VoWifi at the service provider does not run smoothly.

Smooth operation with handy Android 11 functions and a beautiful screen. Making and receiving calls via my WiFi network (and my GSM subscription) was decisive for me because of the poor GSM reception indoors. That's why I didn't have to buy a coverage extender. The Always-on display is a handy plus point and consumes almost no extra battery capacity. Apps run smoothly and the shared screen is useful when making an appointment while communicating via WhatsApp, for example. I stop charging when the battery is 80% full (via an app) and for charging I usually use a slow charger to save the battery.

I've been using the phone for a week now and so far I really like it. He takes beautiful photos, responds quickly and also has a cool color. The wide-angle lens is a welcome addition. If you want to have a nice view of the photo, that gives just a little extra context. In addition, it is a nice idea that the phone is dust and waterproof. This way you can scroll on the toilet with peace of mind.
