Note: it's still unknown when Windows 11 will be available on this laptop. When it's ready, you'll get a pop-up or the upgrade will appear in Windows Updates in the settings.
Write a report, edit holiday photos, and watch your favorite series on Netflix with the 15-inch HP Pavilion 15-eh0947nd. The AMD Ryzen 5 processor is powerful enough for demanding programs like Adobe Photoshop. You can listen to your favorite playlists on Spotify while you work. Thanks to 8GB RAM, you can multitask without your laptop slowing down or crashing. The sound of this HP is clearer and purer thanks to the Bang & Olufsen speakers, so you can easily play your playlist via the speakers. In addition, this laptop has a fingerprint scanner. This way, you can log in securely in a few seconds without typing in a password.

HOUSING/ DESIGN: The laptop looks very luxurious to me. The top is made of sleek metal, nice and slim, the bezels around the screen are quite thin, the on/off button is just next to the Delete button on a nice keyboard. Two rubber edges under the laptop so that it is always stable. “You are strong yourself” Coolblue would say. ;) PERFORMANCE: I have the AMD Ryzen 5 version, 8GB memory and 256GB storage. Depending on your requirements determines whether this is enough for you. For most people, this configuration will be more than adequate for all day-to-day work. If you have specific requirements such as video editing, etc., then it is worth considering looking at a heavier processor. This laptop goes from full power off to Windows desktop in 9 seconds, starting programs, browsing, running virus scan… it all goes very fast on this laptop. CONNECTIVITY: Two USB 3.1 ports, HDMI 2.0 port, Bluetooth, SD card reader, USB-C and a headphone jack. No ethernet connection. In a time of wi-fi not necessary for most people, but if you are in the attic with a powerline adapter or the like. well. Fortunately, there is a converter for that. Not many USB ports on this machine, but there is an external solution for that too. All in all, I think this laptop is pretty complete in terms of connections. SCREEN: A nice IPS panel. I notice that the viewing angle is very good. If you sit diagonally in front of the laptop, you will not see the colors change, which you do with a TN panel. The resolution of 1920 × 1080 at 15.6 inches is a DPI of 141, which produces a very sharp image. BATTERY LIFE: The battery lasts for several hours depending on usage. Working somewhere without a charger for a day is not really an option. WEIGHT: The laptop is quite light. I don't think this is a device you would want to keep on your lap (for a long time), but you can easily take the laptop with you. INTERNAL SPEAKERS: For laptop speakers, the sound is quite nice. Personally, I don't really use this, but when I play music, I don't think it's that bad considering the speaker dimensions. SOUND DURING WORK: The laptop is very quiet. When running an intensive task such as a virus scan, you hear almost nothing (very soft blowing). SOFTWARE: A lot of HP standard software is installed during the installation. I deleted all of these because I don't use it anyway. Personally, I don't see the benefit of it either. I prefer Windows Defender to Norton. CONCLUSION: I think you get a lot of laptop for the money in this price range. Ideal for students, people who just want a new laptop that you can use for a while and is also not out of place for business purposes. I haven't really found any major drawbacks. I'm actually quite surprised that I get this quality in this price range.

A beautiful and sturdy device, with a sleek design (all around aluminum) and a beautiful luxurious-looking appearance. The aluminum has been treated in such a way that it does not show fingerprints, a big plus. The laptop is easy to open (screen), the designers paid close attention to that. The screen (IPS panel) gives beautiful colors under a wide viewing angle, but had to be recalibrated to bring out these beautiful colors (I think that could have been better ex-factory). The high resolution of 1920x1080 provides a sharp image. The keys have a light touch and that works very well. The sound from the built-in B&O boxes is also fine. The touchpad hardly makes any noise when using it, but is very sensitive (you really have to learn to work with that), and is actually a bit too close to the edge (that could have been a few mm extra from the edge), so that you often accidentally hit the touchpad when you didn't mean to; this sensitivity may be be adjusted by means of the Windows PC settings. The keyboard backlight even has three modes: no, half and bright; especially the semi-bright lighting is nice. The laptop has a very good battery, which can last quite a long time, even with intensive use (eg when streaming or playing a movie: approx. 10% energy loss per hour), and can also be recharged quickly. Also positive is the available SD card reader. The strength of the cables, such as those of the transformer, is very positive. There are plenty of other laptop manufacturers who, out of an alleged idea of economy, are supplying ever thinner cords, which only make them more vulnerable. That transformer cord also has an extra Velcro strap (you don't see much anymore) with which the cord can easily be wrapped in an orderly condition when rolled up. Because it is an SSD laptop with a lot of RAM (16 GB) and a lot of storage space (512 GB) and with a very good CPU (6-core AMD Ryzen 5), it is lightning fast - really top class. The laptop can therefore easily handle multiple tasks at the same time. Missing on the keyboard: - the scroll lock key (very strange that this has been removed) - a key to black out the screen at the touch of a button (to save battery); I solved that by creating a shortcut on the desktop to the screensaver and setting the latter to blank (I find the keyboard layout of, for example, the Acer Aspire SSD laptops a lot more versatile and thoughtfully designed.) Missing: - a USB 2 port; anyway the two USB 3 ports are on the low side, one more could have been liked - Ethernet LAN connection Annoying: - the on/off button is in an illogical place - the battery adapter connection (on the right) is located right next to a USB port: if you have a flash drive in it, they sometimes really get in each other's way (not a handy idea from the designers) - that when using the num lock key you cannot see whether it is on or off; If, on the other hand, you use the caps lock key, a light will light up when it is on - because the laptop is cooled with a small fan, it is very quiet in use; this has a disadvantage: with very intensive tasks, such as a full virus scan, the temperature of the processor (CPU) can quickly rise above the critical value (60C); You can keep an eye on this with Windows Task Manager (Performance) Downright annoying: - the factory-installed McAfee antivirus (1 month trial), while a Norton 360 antivirus is included with the purchase (1 year subscription for free): that Norton is of a very good quality and has a very well-maintained installation, with a lot of useful functionality (including free VPN); exchanging one antivirus with another requires a lot of technical knowledge and skill that probably not everyone has at home (I think Coolblue should organize that better) - HP has unfortunately installed a lot of junk apps (bloatware) The factory-installed Windows 10 installation is reasonably well set up and can be easily configured, but I had to remove the hibernation and sleep mode from the settings myself, for example (because an SSD doesn't like that). I quickly converted the lousy Windows 10 menu experience to the much more user-friendly Windows 7 functionality (using the excellent free Classic Shell). All in all, I am mostly positive about this laptop, which also has an excellent price-performance ratio. I can therefore certainly recommend him.
