Note: this motherboard only works with 3rd and 5th generation AMD Ryzen processors with an AM4 socket, with the exception of the 3400G and 3200G.
The MSI MAG B550 TOMAHAWK is a is a motherboard for hardcore gamers. There are many heatsinks on this motherboard, which dissipate heat better. This means that the parts stay cool, even under the heaviest load. Thanks to the AM4 socket, you can use this motherboard with a 3rd and 5th generation AMD Ryzen processor. There's space for fast storage on the 2 M.2 slots, on which you install fast SSDs. You can connect your video card and up to 4 RAM modules to the reinforced slots. This way, your motherboard stays in an upright position when setting up and connecting. As a true gaming motherboard, this MSI also has RGB lighting. You can set it up yourself via the MSI software.

Everything in the manual is explained in clear steps, so that the motherboard could be quickly connected and installed. After turning on the system, there was no image. After a long search it turned out to be a known problem and a flash of the BIOS is required. The correct version is quickly found on the MSI site. Would that be why the flash button was placed on the back instead of on the motherboard? After setting up the latest version everything runs like a train and I am very satisfied with the product

Nice motherboard from MSI that is very good in the market in terms of price-quality. I'm not a big fan of RGB states myself. You can easily disable it with this motherboard via a hardware switch. Drivers and dashboard application are easy to get and also do its thing. Flashing BIOS was a breeze. BIOS itself is also quite advanced (overclocking, XMP profiles, ...). The only drawback I have experienced for myself is that 1 of the 2 SATA cables has a 90 degree connection. Not a problem in itself, but with the case I use (Fractal Design C) you can place up to 3 HDDs behind the mobo (backplate). So you need straight SATA cables for this. Very satisfied with my purchase.
