Neato Botvac D7 Connected

Basically a very nice product. Cleans neatly on both low-pile carpet and laminate. Compared to the D5 Connected, this vacuum cleaner offers a better battery and the option to operate the robot manually. Moreover, this robot can remember where it can and cannot go. So no ugly magnetic strips are needed for this. Furthermore, the app works well and relatively quickly. You will also be kept well informed of any jams (on dog toys/rope that gets stuck in the brush). It is therefore recommended to clean the floor of fine rope and other stuff that can be partially vacuumed. Now a point that applies to all Neato's: build quality. Basically, it's a well-designed product, but the venom is in the details. Until now, every Neato in my house has started beeping/cracking and making more noise over time. Today I found out the cause: the main brush. On the one hand it is slid onto the motor, on the other side it is fixed in the housing of the robot with a bearing (which is attached to the brush). That bearing breaks pretty quickly. First the vacuum cleaner beeps. And he will continue to do so for a while. Until recently, it was a reason for me to return the vacuum cleaner, I could not find the problem. Today when vacuuming it beeped and then started buzzing over a period of about 5 seconds, spinning longer and then stopped completely. The app immediately sprang into action: I'm stuck. Remove whatever is stuck in the brush. .. But nothing was stuck! After removing the brush I saw that grease had run out of the bearing and that the bearing was jammed. The brush can no longer rotate. The solution is a new brush, simple enough. Neato also solves this very neatly. New brush will be sent to you so you can go ahead. But it should really not be the case that a robot of this price range gets stuck due to a bearing of 0.6 mm in diameter worth a few cents. Obviously, savings have been made on the quality of this stuff and that should not be allowed with such a high-end product. All in all, however, a great product!

Just got the D7 and was a bit skeptical beforehand. Does such a thing suck and I don't have to keep chasing it to save it from a cable. But I was really amazed the first time to see how agile he is. And how he learns from the environment. On the first suction, he first scans the room and then cleans it in a fixed pattern. The first time he was almost stuck under the kitchen table among the chaos of chair legs. When he got out, he seemed to think for a moment and then go back in. But now to neatly suck around everyone's paw without getting tangled between the paws. In the study there is a bookcase that is just under 10 cm from the floor. Then the laser would jam. But he went neatly under it lengthwise without getting stuck. So super smart. The biggest surprise came when cleaning. The bowl was completely full of dog hair (from old cupboard and sofa) and sand. I didn't expect him to clean so neatly. If in doubt, just do it! Super fat thing. Makes little noise by the way. Brush has been adjusted I think. Read some reviews that the bearings get full of hair. There is a piece of plastic in front of it to prevent that. Installing is done in no time. No WiFi hassle, connects quickly and easily.

The botvac takes longer than I would vacuum myself. About 40 min for a living. I have 2 dogs that shed a lot. This vacuum cleaner saves me a lot of time. Only downside is the noise.
