Pros and cons

According to our keyboard expert

  • Thanks to the backlit keys, you'll be able to keep working in the dark.
  • With the multimedia keys, you'll always have your volume and music controls handy when typing.
  • The dial offers direct access to creative tools.
  • The keyboard has a rechargeable battery, so you don't need AA batteries.
  • The keyboard has no ergonomic design, so you may not be able to comfortably type on it for hours.

Description

With the sleek-looking Logitech Craft Advanced Keyboard, you can easily work with complex programs. Use the touch-sensitive dial for more control or your favorite creative tools. Touch the dial to open a function menu and turn to change the value of the selected function. This way, the dial constantly has a different contextual function, depending on which app or software you use. As soon as your hands come close to the keyboard, the keys light up. Depending on how illuminated the environment is, the keys are brighter or slightly less bright. This way, the Craft doesn't waste battery power and you'll always have enough backlight to type comfortably.

Yes but.....

  • multi-device
  • relief
  • small

I have mixed feelings about this product. It does exactly what it promises, I can use the keyboard on multiple devices by just moving my mouse there (MX Master 2S) and that was the reason to switch to this keyboard. But the Logitech Options software is unstable (on 1 machine it no longer works after a Windows Update) and does not remember the preferences for some functions (wheel scroll). The keyboard itself is small and the keys are close to each other when shift the CAPS lock is often touched. The layout is also not very nice, the function keys are by default only accessible with the FN key and that is difficult to reach in keyboard combinations. Also the sound buttons are not in an easily recognizable part. What really disappoints me is the battery life. It lasts for 2-3 days and then has to be charged again. This is much shorter than my previous Illuminated Keyboard which had to be charged once every 2 weeks. Despite all these criticisms, I'm still happy with this keyboard. I can now use 1 keyboard/mouse combination for both of my machines, which is worth a lot to me. As soon as a real full Illuminated keyboard is available, I'll switch to it and I'm completely satisfied

Good concept, crappy execution

  • Nice keystroke
  • Backlighting of the keyboard is nicely done
  • Battery life outrageously bad

I chose this keyboard for its features related to Adobe programs. Since I do a lot of graphic work, that can be an enormous added value for me. The fact that this unfortunately turns out to be less in practice makes the keyboard far too expensive for the quality. The travel of the keys, the overall feel of the keys and their positioning is very good. It offers easy options for fast and error-free typing. However, it is not uncommon that the connection is broken about 2 to 3 times per hour, so that you miss a number of characters in your sentence. The connection is automatically restored after about 4 seconds, but the characters you type in the meantime are lost. This has often resulted in me being about to smash the keyboard in half on the edge of the desk. To me, Logitech is not known as extremely good software builders and that is unfortunately also the case with this keyboard. Even after more than a year of use, you notice that bugs are not solved. With regularity that the volume keys no longer respond out of nowhere, as soon as you switch off the software or the keyboard and restart it, that problem is solved immediately. The integration with the Adobe package has also contained enough bugs for months to consider it unusable. For example, in Illustrator you have the option to choose to use the wheel to zoom. If you turn the wheel a bit to the right, there is a very good chance that you will immediately zoom in to 1500%, if you turn it a little further to the right, it will suddenly zoom out and then zoom in again. A kind of Russian roulette which way you go in terms of zooming; unusable. For example, there are many other bugs that are not resolved even after being reported to Logitech. Further integrations outside the Adobe packages is extremely meager. Useful macros cannot be created yourself, you are quite bound to the provided integrations between Logitech and certain software. This leads to the fact that in almost all software programs, the wheel can only be used as CMD + Tab to switch between windows. In a few cases, such as Spotify, you can do a bit more with it, but the range is so limited that it takes you too much time to find out whether it is useful to use the wheel and remember what it does exactly. This wireless keyboard has actually been on my desk as a wired keyboard from the first few weeks, because the battery life of 5-6 working days causes such frustration about constantly looking for the charging cable and connecting it that it is better to choose it permanently to hang on the charger. Hopefully my new iMac with Magic keyboard will be delivered soon, then there will be a worthy replacement to make the Craft forgotten for good.

Professional keyboard for business or graphic use

  • Multifunctional rotary knob
  • Reasonably quiet and nice keys
  • Beautiful backlit keys

The turning wheel has pleased me better than previously thought. Very useful and in different programs it has different preset functions. Volume management, switching between tabs in the browser, quickly switching between formatting functions in Photoshop, etc. The keys are also quite quiet, no hard buttons like on much cheaper keyboards. Most functions on the keys work well with the PC with Windows 10 (unlike my previous keyboard), so very satisfied.
