According to our wireless presenter expert
Give a professional presentation with the Logitech Spotlight Presentation Remote Gray. The buttons allow for effortless navigation through slides, as well as for pointing out specific elements. Contrary to other presenters, the Spotlight doesn't use a laser to point at things, but an advanced pointer system. This system allows you to zoom in on images and to magnify details, making them more visible. Ever lose track of time when presenting? By using vibrations, the Spotlight lets you know when it's time to move on to the next slide. It has a battery life of up to 3 months and charging it takes no more than one hour over USB-C. After charging for just one minute, you'll have sufficient battery for a 3-hour presentation.

In the home situation with a laptop, the spotlight works reasonably well, although a movie cannot be started in highlight or magnification mode. Switching between modes takes time and is not always immediately successful. During a presentation yesterday for 120 people, after the introduction of 20 minutes by someone else, the pointer could no longer be found and only started again after a few minutes of waiting. Still wet hands! The cursor then appeared to only appear on the screen when aiming next to the screen (spotlight parallel to the screen). Very counter-intuitive, clumsy and difficult to maneuver! Possibly a problem because the presentation was done with a beamer and screen (which still happens sometimes). A clear manual with possibilities, but also with limitations and possible problems is not (yet). This is absolutely necessary. The product is insufficiently developed and not ready for all practical situations. Daan Kamphuis

I hesitated for a while before buying it. After all, it is a lot more expensive than any other device. But in the end I am very happy with my purchase. From the moment I took it out of the box I had a good feeling about it. The package. The attention to detail. How the USB receiver is built into the bottom. How is a USB-C hidden under it. And of course the fact that you can present hours with just 5 minutes of charging. I regularly give presentations or lessons to groups of more than 20 people. Not everywhere I go there is a large projection screen available. So being able to zoom in on certain parts always comes in handy. (If you do this with a moving image, it takes a kind of screenshot instead of enlarging the video.) You can also control the cursor from where you are standing. so you no longer need a mouse to click on links and buttons in your presentation. It is also very nice that the software works as a layer above your screen. And therefore works with Keynote, Powerpoint, Prezi, Chrome, Photoshop, ... The spotlight also works fine for large auditoriums where your laser pointer would disappear, since it works with software and you can adjust and scale it as desired. Finally, there's the timer, which I personally use less, but if you're presenting without a monitor, it can vibrate subtly to help you finish your story within the given time. In conclusion: yes, this device is more expensive than all other devices. But it is not a device like all the others. This is a totally new and better way of presenting. A new generation, both in ease of use (software, spolight/enlarged features) and in reliability (battery, usb-c, supplied cable, bluetooth support, ...)

A handy pointer for presentations. Especially the option for pointing out texts (not with a light beam but the text makes you light up) gives a professional look. I use this pointer in combination with a Macbook Pro (13', with only USB-C ports) and then it is handy that you realize the connection via bluetooth. Reasonably priced, but worth the money!
