Pros and cons

According to our telescope expert

  • Because the stargazer has a solid low mount, the telescope is less sensitive to hand vibrations.
  • You observe relatively nearby planets thanks to the 18x magnification.
  • The CD with astronomy software can only be used with Windows computers.

Description

With the National Geographic 76/350 Compact Telescope, children discover the world of astronomy. Because the stargazer is a table model with a solid low mount, the telescope is less sensitive to hand vibrations. This makes it easy for children to look at celestial objects. The telescope comes with software that allows you to look up the locations of stars and planets in advance. Because of the maximum magnification of 18x you observe relatively nearby planets. For example, you can see the craters on the moon. The mirror in the telescope prevents lens errors so that observations look bright and colourfast.

Nice viewer for a good price

  • really a compact model that stays firmly on, for example, a table
  • searching for the moon is not difficult
  • nice software included
  • searching for smaller celestial bodies is not easy

It is suitable for children from the age of 8-10. It is a handy and sturdy model and easy to fix, so that the lenses can be exchanged without losing the image. We would have liked a little more explanation about how to use it.
