The Profile Optical Smoke Detector detects smoke and notifies you with an 85-decibel audio signal. The smoke detector runs on a 9V battery, so you can mount it wherever you want. When the battery is about to run out, the smoke detector will tell you by producing a loud beep. It's then up to you to change the battery quickly. Use the test button to test the smoke detector regularly so you can be sure that it works. This ensures you won't ever have to face any nasty surprises.
The smoke detector is sold without a 9V battery.
