I've had the Senseo Switch for two months now, so the real test phase is over. The most important finding: whatever function you use, the coffee is super tasty. You do taste a difference between coffee from the pads and with the filter, but that is probably more due to the coffee itself than to the machine. The device itself has been given a thorough makeover, which has not failed to implement the strengths of the competition. But the result is impressive: the device looks nice and with its slim shape, it reminds a bit of the Nespresso machines. But that is an advantage in this case. Even with the two functions, the device is more compact and takes up less space. Of course you have some extra parts that you still need to get rid of. This new Senseo switch is more user-friendly than our old Senseo. The device is easy to operate and easy to convert from pads to filter and vice versa. Compared to the 'old' Senseo, the Switch is an improvement on the following points: - The machine can no longer stand up unnecessarily because the water only heats up after you have pressed the 'put' button. The water starts running automatically after it has warmed up. - Water reservoir can stand on its own - Coffee seems hotter - Coffee drips from higher, creating a thicker foam layer. - The device is much more beautiful and narrower The first advantage is also a potential disadvantage: I hold my breath for the time I forget to put my bag under it when I switch on the machine. Cons: - the water tank is 'deceitful'. There is an indication up to 7 bags, but there must always be water for 2 bags. So basically you have to top up with water every 5 bags. - if you follow the 'regulations', the machine must be cleaned or rinsed a lot. So still demanding in maintenance. The filter function is used by us at the weekend, when we drink coffee with 2 or more people. Converting the pads to the filter function is very easy and also very fast. Pros - Water runs 'slowly' so that the coffee tastes just as good as 'slow drip' coffee - Nice pitcher - Fast Negatives - Loud - a pitcher actually only contains 5 small cups of coffee and not 7 as people pretend. - jug is too small to make coffee for a group of more than 4 people. - Insulation capacity max 2.5 hours In itself a very good machine that combines -at Senseo level- the positive points of the classic Senseo and a Nespresso machine and which also has the extra filter function. The only thing I would change is the indication on the water tank: make it clear that you can only put 5 bags with a full tank and don't talk about 7 bags because actually that is cheating...

In addition to the modern, stylish design, the Senseo Switch is also extremely practical. No more standing in the kitchen for too long because your visitors all want coffee. Switch! And make a delicious pot of coffee that also stays warm for a long time thanks to the thermos.

Quality of the material is a shadow of the original Senseo! Noise !!!! Looks nice but this is negated by the fluff plastic used.
