According to our tripod expert
The Manfrotto MVK500AM tripod is suitable for the professional videographer. The stand has a maximum working height of 156cm and can carry a maximum load of 7kg. The mid-level spreader ensures that the legs don't slip. This way, the tripod forms a solid base for your video camera. The included fluid head ensures smooth movements during recording. By tightening the friction button, you can determine how smoothly the tripod head moves. You can easily take the tripod with you on location, inside the included carrying case.

A tripod from Manfrotto is already a good purchase in advance. The Italian brand exudes solidity and professionalism. The tripod comes with a spacious carrying bag with a wide carrying strap. Due to the light weight, the tripod is therefore easy to take to locations. The head is one of the smoothest heads I've worked with in recent years. The stepless adjustment of the resistance largely contributes to this. The tripod is also easy to raise due to the easy click system (plastic). You can find it a drawback, but as far as I'm concerned it's not something to put the tripod in front of: the spreader is not adjustable (in length of the legs) and cannot be removed from the tripod. Or I haven't figured out how yet (nor found the need). What's a bigger downside is that the screw on the right that secures the coupling plate is not easily accessible when a DSLR (or wider camera) is mounted. The trick that Manfrotto has devised for this (difficult to explain, look it up somewhere) is not foolproof. All in all, a very nice tripod, because it is so light and makes incredibly smooth movements. A definite recommendation!

Very good tripod for its price, with very smooth movements in video. Is also high enough for large camera operators. All types of camera fit on it, the click plate is a bit large for a DSLR. The only drawback is that if you set the resistance very stiff to, for example, do very slow pan movements, the tripod will sometimes move - in that case firmly hold onto one of the tripod legs, or add weight. Overall very satisfied with it. Recommended for beginners and professionals.
