According to our smartwatch expert
Need some extra motivation to start going to the gym again? Then put the Polar A360 on your wrist. This activity tracker's color display doesn't only show you your activity and the number of calories you've burned; thanks to the integrated heart rate sensor, it also displays your heart rate. The 5 bars on the touchscreen indicate which heart rate zone you're in. You'll immediately see whether or not you should calm down. Meanwhile, you won't miss any call or message, as the activity tracker supports smart notifications. This means you'll always be reachable. Even when you're at the gym.
In order to avoid malfunctions, you should clean the USB port after every work-out. You can open the USB port's cover and rinse the USB port with lukewarm water. Leave the cover open for a while after rinsing to let the USB port dry. Is the USB port still too humid? Then don't charge the device!
The Polar A360 comes in 3 sizes: S (wrist circumference of 130-170mm), M (wrist circumference of 155-200mm), and L (wrist circumference of 180-225mm). Be sure to know which size you need to avoid disappointment, by using the paper measuring tape in the size chart, for example.

Looked forward to the launch of the a360. Good mix of smartwatch, sports watch, beautifully legible screen for people who need reading glasses. I don't need notifications and then the a360 lasts a long time on a battery charge. When I put it on the first time, the thickness was a bit disappointing (compared to the image). It's slightly thicker than the loop2 at its thickest point, but because it's a straight screen, it's still a patch on your wrist. The loop2 looks like a bracelet, the a360 like a watch. The heart rate monitoring is of course des polars! Fortunately, you don't have to start training to check the heart rate. You can also enter your favorite sports and favorite workouts via flow (including interval training!!!) and sync to the a360. A session is therefore started in no time! The vibration of the loop2 is slightly stronger, but the possibilities of the a360 are much greater. I was really surprised about the possibilities (read the online manual!!!). I thought pricey, but given quality and comfort, pennies are more than worth it!

Very satisfied with this product.
In response to the reviews in which people find it annoying that the watch lights up at night: there was an update very recently that gives you a 'sleep' mode.

After a Jawbone UP!, a Garmin vivoSMART HR and a Fitbit Charge HR, this is my fourth activity tracker. So I'm becoming a nice subject matter expert...
I have used the Fitbit the longest and of the trackers mentioned, it is by far the best. With one huge drawback: not waterproof. With a wear-and-forget thing like an activity tracker, which you also want to sleep with, for example, I think that's a serious flaw. That is why the choice for replacement fell on the Polar. It is waterproof, even up to 30 meters.
Other advantages over the Fitbit are the automatic night mode (once it is active, your screen does not turn on automatically, for example during the night while sleeping), a clear battery indicator and being able to charge with a standard micro-USB cable . The battery lasts for two weeks according to the specifications... I didn't make it. I will arrive in about four days, when using the smart notifications. But for me, anything longer than a long day is actually fine. The activity notification you get when you sit still for too long is very clear and immediately clears itself as soon as you walk around for a while (there are activity trackers where you have to do 250 steps and that's quite a lot if you work in a small office). Another advantage is the interchangeable strap. The Fitbit's have a known problem that the bands are not very solid and sometimes come loose from the watch itself. If that already happens with the Polar, you can fix it reasonably cheaply with a new band, if desired in a different color. And if you want an accurate heart rate measurement, the A360 works together with the Polar H7. In any case, a nice gadget to have because it also works well with many sports apps.
Unfortunately, there are also disadvantages. This is the first activity tracker I've had where the step goals are not adjustable. Polar asks you for your daily activity level the first time. If you have a sedentary, non-active profession, you should immediately take more than 12,000 steps per day. If you have a more active existence, it becomes even more so. There are no real changes to the watch's interface. And notice: I said 'watch'. Because that is the Polar primary. Where with Fitbit you can adjust what the 'watch' initially shows, the Polar shows the time. And an indication of how far you are with your goal. But to see steps, you have to swipe and tap again to see your day in a somewhat ugly visual. Additional actions are also always required to track activities. Where Fitbit does that automatically. Related to this is the heart rate monitoring. It only works during a training that you have to start yourself. Where Fitbit does that 24/7. The app also lags. It all looks OK, but no more than that. And very limited in functionality. Charging is easy with a micro-USB cable, but not very fast. And you won't get a warning when the battery is empty. The screen gets very dark when it almost does. Given that the Polar has a clear battery indicator, not a big deal.
Let's talk about smart notifications. This works pretty well. Notifications are easy to read. And you can properly set which you do or do not want to get on the Polar. One thing to keep in mind: if you have had a notification, it will disappear from the screen if you have not looked immediately. But yes, it is primarily a watch, then an activity tracker and finally a limited smart watch.
In short, the Polar is a pretty good activity tracker that is primarily a watch. With two important advantages being waterproof and with a replaceable strap. If you care about those two things and can live with the rather extensive list of negatives, this is a good buy.
