What meals can you make on your barbecue?
Pizzas, fish, and meat
Bake pizzas and bread
A pizza stone is made of ceramic and holds heat. This makes the stone suitable to bake bread or pizza. You always need a BBQ with a lid to use a pizza stone. That because a lid provides an oven effect. This way, you can make a pizza Margherita with a crunchy crust in the BBQ.
Fish, baked potato, or corn
To prepare fish, bakes potatoes, or corn, you don't need much. With a BBQ with a lid and patience, you're almost there. That's because it takes a while before you meal is ready. For fish meals, there are special fish baskets. Also check magazines for food blogs, or go on YouTube. You can find many BBQ recipes there to make your baked potato or corn taste even better.
Grill marks
Grill marks on the BBQ meat give the ultimate BBQ experience. With a regular BBQ rack, you won't get such clear marks. You really need a searing rack for that. These are made of cast iron. Cast iron hold the heat. This makes a searing rack suitable to get barbecue marks on your meat. In the spots where the meat touches the rack, the BBQ meat gets grill marks.
Grilled vegetables, sauces, and small ingredients
Grilled vegetables
If you think of a barbecue, you think of meat. But you can also grill vegetables on the BBQ rack. This can be eggplant, zucchini, or bell pepper. Coat the vegetables with olive oil and your favorite herbs. Then, lay them on the grill rack. Serve the vegetables together with the meat, or mix them in a nice BBQ salad. This way, you can complete your BBQ.
Prepare sauces and soups
The nicest barbecue sauces are homemade. A side burner on your barbecue allows you to make a sauce at the same time as the meat. You can also easily make tomato soup or vegetable soup on the side burner. This way, you can turn your BBQ into a 3-course dinner.
Small ingredients
You can easily prepare prawns, asparagus, or other small ingredients on your BBQ. You do need a griddle or special grill rack without slits. Some BBQs have a modular system. This means that you can remove a part of the rack from the BBQ. This way, you have room for half a griddle or other modular accessories. On a portable stove, you often have a skottel or plancha to prepare meals.
