What's the Ring Intercom and how does it work?
Make your intercom smart
The Ring Intercom isn't a separate intercom. You add the device to your own intercom. Then, you connect it to your smartphone via the Ring app. This way, your intercom gets smart functions. Open the door of your apartment for the mailman when you're not home, for example. Or talk to visitors that ring the bell while you're at the office. You don't need a Ring subscription for this. Make sure you check if your intercom is suitable for the Ring Intercom. You can do this via the Ring website.
Give others access
When you give other people access to your Ring Intercom, you give them a kind of digital key via the Ring app. They'll receive an email with an invitation. This way, friends and family can enter themselves. You can also let the home care service in without having to get up. You can choose when your visitors can use the key. You can set schedules via the Ring app for this.
Connect your Ring camera or doorbell
If you have a Ring doorbell or IP camera, you can easily connect it to your intercom. This way, it automatically starts recording when someone rings the bell. You can connect your camera or doorbell to the Ring Intercom via the app. Tap the 3 lines at the top left and then 'devices'. Here, choose the Ring Intercom. Tap 'linked devices' and choose the doorbell or IP camera that you want to connect to your intercom. Don't forget to click 'save' at the top right.
