All-round lens

An all-round lens is a versatile lens, as the name suggest. This type of lenses have a variable focal length. With the focal length, you can decide how close you bring your subject. The smaller the focal length, the more zoomed out the images is. A larger focal length makes sure you can bring the image closer. With an all-round lens, you can go both ways by zooming. This way, you don't have to bring multiple lenses when you take photos.

When should you choose an all-round lens?

Choice all-round lens

Choose an all-round lens when you want to use 1 lens for many different types of photography. In addition, you can choose this lens because it's easy to take with you. Note: a lightweight all-round lens with a large zoom range loses some quality in the glass. The photos you take with these lenses lose some quality. Professional all-round lenses are often made of quality glass, which makes them very good, but also very expensive and heavy.
