Tip 1: use cow's milk or oat milk
In general, an espresso machine with milk reservoir can froth cow's milk the best. Do you prefer to drink plant-based milk? Use oat milk. This works the best for your machine. Other types don't froth as well, like soya milk, almond milk, or rice milk.
Tip 2: cool the milk in advance
Make sure you always use cooled milk. If the milk has a temperature between 5 and 8°C, it can froth the best. That's the regular temperature of a fridge. Put the milk reservoir back in the fridge after you made a cappuccino. That way, the milk has the right temperature.
Tip 3: fill the milk reservoir to the MAX level
If there's too little milk in the milk reservoir, the suction of the milk doesn't work well anymore. Make sure the milk reservoir is filled to the MAX level. You can store the filled milk reservoir in the fridge to keep the milk fresh and cool.
Tip 4: check the connector of the milk system
Check if the milk reservoir is firmly clicked into the machine. Also open the lid of the milk reservoir and make sure all parts are clicked into each other. This can be the plastic milk tube and the milk spout. If air can come between them, the suction of milk doesn't work well anymore, which can result in bad milk foam.
Tip 5: make sure the milk system is clean
You have to clean the milk system daily. If you don't, milk residue can built up. That way, the milk can't flow freely, and you get bad milk foam. It's also isn't hygienic because the milk residue can mold after some time. Remove all the separate parts of the milk reservoir and wash them under the faucet with lukewarm water and dish soap. Also check small openings and you can clean them with a toothpick, if necessary.
