3 tips if your OPPO smartphone drops out

If your OPPO smartphone drops out, this could be caused by a software issue. A reset or update may resolve the issue. We'll explain how you can easily do that here.

Solve problems with dropouts

Performing a software update or reset are possible solutions.

  1. Restart your smartphone
  2. Download the most recent software
  3. Reset the smartphone to factory settings

Tip 1: restart your phone

It might help to perform a soft reset on the device. This is the same as a restart.

  1. Press the standby button and volume up button at the same time.
  2. Release when the device turns off. This happens after about 12 seconds.
  3. Turn the device back on by pressing the standby button.

Tip 2: download the latest software

Sometimes, a function doesn't work because your phone doesn't have the latest software. Make sure your device is at least 60% charged.

  1. Check if your smartphone is connected to WiFi.
  2. Go to Settings, scroll down, and tap 'Update software'.
  3. Is there an update? Tap 'Download now'. Wait until it's done.
  4. Then choose' Update now'.

Tip 3: reset to factory settings

A hard reset is a drastic action. Only do this when the above tips don't help. Make sure you have a backup of your apps, files, and photos, so you won't lose them.

Go to settings and choose 'Additional settings'. Tap 'Backup and reset' and then 'Erase all data (factory reset)'. Choose 'Erase all data'.

We've also written an extensive explanation about the hard reset.
