5 tips if your dehumidifier doesn't want to turn on anymore
Solution for dehumidifier that isn't working
If your dehumidifier stops working, you can often solve the problem with the tips below.
- Tip 1: check the socket
- Tip 2: replace the air filter
- Tip 3: check the working temperature
- Tip 4: clean the air supply or air outlet
- Tip 5: check the water tank
Tip 1: check the socket
It may seem obvious, but you should check if your socket is working. It might just be a very simple solution for your problem. Is the dehumidifier plugged in and does the socket work? That probably means there's something wrong with the dehumidifier itself.
Tip 2: replace the air filter
Your dehumidifier won't work is the filter is full. There are 2 types of filters, washable filters and replaceable ones. You have to clean a washable filter every 2 months or so. Replaceable filter have to be replaced after about 6 months.
Tip 3: check the working temperature
A dehumidifier only works at the right ambient temperature. The minimum working temperature of a condensation dehumidifier is 16°C. For an adsorption dehumidifier, the minimum working temperature is lower than 16°C. That's why it's important to check which type of dehumidifier you have and what the suitable working temperature is.
Tip 4: clean the air supply or air outlet
The dehumidifier can't suck in air if the air supply is blocked. And if the air outlet is blocked, the dehumidifier won't be able to blow out dehumidified air. In that case, the dehumidifier isn't working properly and can't collect moisture in the water tank as a result. That's why you should always clean the air openings in time.
Tip 5: check the water tank
Make sure you place the water tank back in the dehumidifier properly after you empty it. The product can't dehumidify if you've placed the water tank incorrectly.
