6 tips for using a Dyson air purifier

You bought a Dyson air purifier and you want to get started with it right away. Of course, you bought the purifier for a reason. You want to improve the air quality in your home. But where do you put the air purifier? And how often should you replace the filters? We have 6 tips for you to get the most out of your air purifier.

Recap tips for your Dyson air purifier

To get the most out of your new Dyson air purifier, we'll give you a few tips:

  1. Keep 20cm free space around it.
  2. Keep polluted air out.
  3. Download the Dyson app.
  4. Set up a schedule.
  5. Keep the air purifier clean.
  6. Replace the filters.

Tip 1: leave 20cm free space around the device

Leave free space around the Dyson air purifier

When you've unpacked the air purifier, it's time to find a nice place for it in the room. The air purifier is suitable for cleaning the air in a single room. That's why you place it in the room you spend most of your time in. Make sure you leave 20cm of space around the air purifier when you place it somewhere. You don't want the curtains to do pirouettes around the air purifier.

Tip 2: keep out polluted air

When your air purifier has cleaned the air, it's important that the air remains clean. That's why you should keep windows and doors closed as much as possible. This prevents "polluted" air from entering the room. If you often go in and outside of the house, you take new air particles with you from outside. In this case, you won't notice much of a difference if you use of an air purifier. The air purifier may also make more noise, because it's working hard to clean all the pollutants in the air.

Tip 4: set up an operating schedule

Set up operating schedule with Dyson Link app

Do you want your air purifier to turn on and off automatically? Set up an operating schedule via the app. You can select at which times the air purifier turns on each day. For example, you can set up that the purifier is turned on between 06:00 and 09:00 on Monday morning and turns back on at 16:00 as well. That's useful, because the air in your home is always clean when you get home that way.

Tip 5: don't forget to clean it

If you want to make optimal use of your air purifier, it's important that you keep it clean. Of course, you don't want dust to enter the ring, which the purifier will blow back into the room. It's recommended that you give the purifier a good once-over with a duster during your weekly cleaning session. And don't forget the pre-filter, since this removes the largest dust particles before the air passes through the carbon and HEPA filters.

Tip 6: replace the filters

Replace filters air purifier

To keep the air in the room nice and clean, it's important that you change the filters on time. Do you use the air purifier 12 hours per day? According to Dyson, the filters will last you about 12 months. On the app, you can see how many hours the filter has left. Convenient, because that way you know exactly when you need to replace the filters. Make sure you check if the filter is suitable for your air purifier when you purchase a new one.
