3 tips for when your Samsung smartphone won't turn on anymore
Tips for if your smartphone doesn't work
There are several solutions to this problem. Go through the tips below from top to bottom.
- Tip 1. Reboot
- Tip 2. Check the battery
- Tip 3. Reset to factory settings
Tip 1: restart
To restart your Samsung smartphone, you don't always need your screen. Try to restart your device by doing the following:
- Press and hold the standby button and volume button.
- Release the buttons after 10 seconds.
- Turn on the device again by pressing and holding the standby button.
Tip 2: check your battery
Your Samsung smartphone might not responds because the battery is empty and doesn't charge anymore. Try a different charger or gently clean the charging port. Blow into the USB port, or use compressed air, for example. Doesn't it work? Carefully scrape away the dirt with a thin object, like a toothpick.
Tip 3: reset to factory settings
You don't need a working screen for this tip. Try this tip as a last resort, as it'll delete all your data, photos, and apps you haven't backed up.
- Connect your smartphone to your laptop or computer with a cable.
- Press and hold the volume up button and the power button until a menu appears.
- Move the blue bar with the volume up and volume down keys to Wipe data/factory reset.
- Select Wipe data/factory reset with the on/off button.
- Wait for the menu to reappear. Then, select Reboot system now with the on/off button.
Your Samsung smartphone will now reboot. Log in with your Google account and set up your device again.
