Tip 1: perform a soft reset

You can solve connection problems by performing a soft reset on your Nokia smartphone. This is the same as a restart. Go through the following steps for this:

  1. Press and hold the power button and volume up button at the same time.
  2. Release the buttons when the device turns off. That's after 10 to 15 seconds.
  3. Your smartphone will restart automatically.

Tip 2: reset your WiFi router

Sometimes the connection problems aren't caused by your device itself, but the WiFi. You can solve problems with your WiFi by resetting your WiFi router. Go through the following steps:

  1. Remove the internet cable from your router.
  2. Wait for at least 1 minute.
  3. Connected the internet cable to your router again.

  2. Put another SIM card in the device. For example, you can borrow your friend's SIM card.
  3. Enter the PIN code for this SIM card.
  4. Try to make a call. Call someone that's not the person you've borrowed the SIM card from.
  5. Turn off WiFi and test if you have internet. For example, by sending someone a WhatsApp message.
  6. Can you make calls and send messages? That means your device still works, but your SIM card is broken. Request a new SIM card from your provider.

Tip 4: update your Nokia

Sometimes your smartphone doesn't function properly because it doesn't have the latest software. Update your device to the latest software.

  1. Make sure your phone is at least charged for 60%. Otherwise, put the device on the charger.
  2. Check if your smartphone is still connected to WiFi.
  3. Go to Settings. That's the icon with the cogwheel.
  4. Scroll down and choose System.
