My Philips Sonicare AirFloss beeps or whistles
Why does my Sonicare AirFloss peep or whistle?
With each water blast, your Sonicare AirFloss sucks in air through an air vent. When this is clogged, your AirFloss literally can't get any air. This results in a peeping or whistling noise.
What do you need?
- Water
- Kitchen towel or cotton swab
Step 1: remove dirt
There's a hatch on the back of your AirFloss. Open this. In the upper edge of the opening, you'll see a small notch. That's the air vent that has to stay open, so your electric flosser works well.
Remove dirt from the air vent and clean the edge with a kitchen towel or cotton swab. Dab it until there's no more dirt on the kitchen towel or cotton swab. Also clean the inside and outside of the hatch.
Step 2: rinse the electric flosser
Next, rinse the whole device with a lot of water. This way, you can be sure no residue is left behind that can clog the air vent.
Fill your Sonicare AirFloss with water or mouth water and it's ready for use again.
Tip: check the flosser attachment
The suction power of your AirFloss can also decrease due to a blocked flosser attachment. Rinse these under a powerful water jet. If you rinse the attachment after every flossing session, you'll prevent blockages. Replace the attachment every 3 to 6 months, just like your toothbrush.
