A smart lock with keys
The Netatmo lock works with smart keys. This makes the lock different from most smart door locks. It means that you can only open the lock when you're nearby. No one else can do this without your permission. In this article, we'll explain how Netatmo can make your life easier and safer.
Set your keys
Netatmo keys are more secure than your old keys. In the Netatmo app, you can choose which keys have access to your lock at what times. If you lose a key, you can just as easily block it via the app. Do you have more locks? Give each key rights to different parts of your house. For extra safety, you always provide access to your lock via a special card. This makes you the only one who can give others access to your home.
Adjust the permissions of your keys
Netatmo smart keys are useful if you need help around the house. For example, you can give a key to home care and set on which days this key should work. This way, the caregiver can enter themselves. Are you going on a trip and will your neighbors water the plants? Give them a Netatmo key and set it to open the door 1 day a week. You can connect up to 80 keys to a lock.
Collaboration with Apple HomeKit
All Netatmo products work best with Apple HomeKit. For example, you can still control the lock remotely with a HomePod or Apple TV. Your smartphone connects to your HomePod or Apple TV via WiFi. One of these hubs then connects to your lock via Bluetooth. Thanks to this connection, you can see who's at the door via your Netatmo doorbell or camera and open the door remotely thanks to the smart lock.
Always have secure access to your smart lock
You can always get in with keys. You'll receive a notification of almost empty batteries well in advance. Are the batteries empty? Use the micro USB port on your lock. This way, you give it enough power to quickly open the door. You can let someone else in with the Home + Security app. To do this, send the person a link via SMS or email. They can then open the door via Bluetooth with the Home + Guest app. This invitation expires after your visitor enters.
Make the lock fit with extensions
You can easily install a Netatmo lock yourself. Netatmo locks fit on almost every door thanks to the extensions. Without extensions, the lock itself fits on doors with an outer dimension of 30mm or less. You also get extensions for outer dimensions of 35 and 40mm. For larger sizes, you need an extra extension.
